A case of ’til sweat do us part’
LOVE was in the air, along with the unmistakable whiff of thousands of heavily perspiring athletes.
Publican William Fry (34) admitted there was potential for his marriage proposal to go awry after he crossed the finishing line of the Dublin City Marathon ahead of his other half. Never mind, say ‘yes’, his now soon-to-be betrothed may be too out of breath to utter a word after pounding her way through the gruelling 26.2-mile course, he joked as he waited anxiously while the crowds crossed the line. In the end, he got the nod he was looking for from a surprised but delighted Rachel Masterson (30), from Lincolnshire in England.
“I’m tired, shocked, a bit weak but happy,” the sports therapist said. “I wasn’t expecting it.” But efforts to place the ring on her finger were thwarted after her hands swelled as she pounded through the miles.

bila manusia di uji
Result mid term neuro baru je keluar. Semua orang gelabah nak bukak blackboard. Dup dab dup dab. As diana scrolled down the page, I searched for my student number. There you are!
I was startled. I took second glance at my result, in disbelief. aisehhh, tu je ke yang aku dapat, seciput sangat. I blurted words to show a huge disappointment.
Then, I went upstairs n sat near the window. I started thinking rationally. Each time the result is posted on the blackboard, I’ll never feel that my result is good enough. astaghfirullah.
Allah knows the best about me, maybe this is the best result for me. Thanx Allah.

start with a dua’
hadis umara’ (pemerintahan)

“Kami sedang duduk-duduk di masjid bersama Rasulullah s.a.w., dan Basyir adalah seorang pendiam. Maka datang Abu Tha’labah al-Khasynee lalu berkata: “Wahai Basyir bin Sa’ad, adakah engkau menghafaz hadith Rasulullah s.a.w. tentang al-Umara’ (kepimpinan)?” Lalu Hudzaifah berkata: “Aku menghafaz khutbah baginda.” Lantas Abu Tha’labah duduk. Hudzaifah berkata: Rasulullah s.a.w. bersabda:
“An-Nubuwwah (kenabian) berada bersamamu selama mana Allah menghendakinya. Kemudian Dia mengangkatnya apabila Dia mahu mengangkatnya.
Kemudian kamu berada di zaman Khilafah di atas manhaj an-Nubuwwah (metod kenabian). Dan ia berlaku selama mana Allah menghendakinya. Kemudian Dia akan mengangkatnya apabila Dia mahu mengangkatnya.
Kemudian kamu melalui zaman Malikan ‘Aadhan (raja menggigit), dan ia berlaku selama mana Allah menghendakinya. Kemudian Dia mengangkatnya apabila Dia mahu mengangkatnya.
Kemudian kamu menghadapi zaman Malikan Jabriyah (raja diktator), dan ia berlaku selama mana Allah menghendakinya. Kemudian Dia mengangkatnya apabila Dia mahu mengangkatnya.
Kemudian kamu melalui zaman Khilafah di atas manhaj an-Nubuwah, kemudian baginda diam.”
[Riwayat Ahmad 4/275, Abu Daud 4/211, At-Tirmizi 4/503]
relax n recharge

symposium nuqaba’ 2009.
frankly, i got a lot of new info from ustaz Erfino Johari who came from london n not fogetting the reminders given by my super2 seniors during the sympo. this sympo means a lot to me since this is the first semester i have relax n recharge (sort of circle or gathering). few problems arose due to lack of experiences.
so far so good. my adik2, zulaikha, akilah, nabila n jasmin, they are all so cool. they responded well to my questions n they really involved themselves during the session. thanks to them for giving me such a wonderful time….
i just wanna share few things that i think practical to be done during relax n recharge or any other type of gatherings.
1. try to use straight-to-the-point style. state the point, elaborate n finally re-state the main idea (good tip from kak safiah). this will help our adik2 to grab the main point.
2. taaruf or know each other not only in the first meeting but this shud be done in each gathering. for example ask simple question like what is the thing that u dun like most or who will u be in 5 years time.
3.give positive remarks to our adik2 even though their opinions are too simple or a litlle bit diverted from the topic. just show that their thought are appreciated.
4.listen more, talk less. relax n recharge is not a place merely for us talking bout islamic stuff. it will never be completed if there is no problem sharing among the members. to initiate the sharing session, u as the leader must share ur problem or feelings first.
5. doa’. kak safiah said that try to name all our adik2 in our doa’. make the doa’ specific. ask for Allah to guide them, to make everything easy for them, to give them strength.
to syafawati @ syapot, sronok dpt berganding bahu utk jaga adik2 ni.
neuro oh neuro
just finish my neurobiology test..
the questions asked were different from what i had prepared. they asked simple questions but i just couldn’t remember..15minutes for 10 questions made me nervous..
now, it is time to tawakkal. i think that me n my friends had done our very best..may Allah help us guys.
teringat mase kecik2 dulu
yesterday, i was a little bit taken aback when my parents told me that we gonna have our tarawikh at balasoh (sort of madrasah) in front of my house. well, it had not been used for 5 years. it was long, long time ago.
my dad, my big bro, my little bro and kids from this village cleaned up the balasoh yesterday. i dun even know when they did that. what i knew was, that night the balasoh was as new as 5 years ago.
this balasoh hold old, sweet memories of my adolescence. i played during solat in that very place. umi, my sis stepped on my foot, and i stepped on hers. and then we giggled. pitty those who want to concentrate or khusyuk in their solat.
i still remember that i only perform 4 rakaat of tarawikh. 2 rakaat, then i rest, 2 rakaat, then i rest. food served at the end of the tarawikh give me strength to stay at the balasoh till the end. we normally have bubur, nasi kerabu, cendol etc. u name it, we have it.
boys about my age waited outside of balasoh before n after the solat.each time i passed them, i hid behind my mom. my stomach gave me a lurch and my heart started pounding crazily. so funny. but now, the generation has been replaced by a much younger generation. aiseyh…..^^
zaman da berubah. sometimes i missed the olden days. nice to see lights on in the balasoh again. nice to see kids gather and solat tarawikh.nice to have the chance to celebrate ramadhan with my family.
